The massive news, announced exclusively earlier today at Future Games Show Live from LA, is finally here: Creative Mode is coming to Mini Motorways this August 26th PT. We’ve been revving with excitement to share this with you all!

That’s right, commuters, you’ll finally be able to take the tools into your own hands. From changing the colours of buildings, pivoting those pesky destinations, and even deleting them entirely from the map. Not to mention the access to (almost) unlimited upgrades, Creative Mode gives you more freedom than ever before. We’ve seen the beauties you’ve all managed with the game’s existing tools and can’t wait to see what you build now that your creativity will be fully unleashed! 

As it’s been one of our most-requested features, we hope you enjoy this new game mode. And thank you for sticking with us on this road trip! With August just around the corner, our dinos will be busy putting the final polish on the Creative Mode update ahead of its official launch across all platforms on August 26 PT!

2025 promises to be a big year for Mini Motorways, and we’re kicking things off in the usual fashion with a map update early in the year. However, later this year, we’re launching a highly anticipated community feature that’s been cooking for some time. Our team is immensely proud of the work they’ve put in on this one, and we think you’re going to love it, too.

Rounding out the year, we wouldn’t be Dinosaur Polo Club without a December update of some kind, and we’re already hard at work on our December map! We’re hoping it comes as a bit of a fun surprise – December is the season for that sort of thing, right?

We couldn’t have asked for a better first Australian map! As a New Zealand-based studio, many of us have fallen in love with the natural landscape across the ditch in Australia in person. Cairns is no exception, and we found its combination of looming mountains and sweeping beaches provide a unique challenge for new and veteran players alike.

In addition to the new map, this update also includes:

• Our newest map, Cairns, will have you connecting Australia’s bustling road network from Palm Cove to the Esplanade Lagoon. 
• Cinematic Mode! This mode pans across the map and follows your commuters on their journey 
• Improvement to Game zoom only working when the game window is in focus
• New Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges, and City Challenges.

This is our first update since Mini Motorways turned five years old, and we wanted to share a heartfelt thank you to all of our players across the world. Your support of our work and love of our games makes our dream possible, and we look forward to bringing you even more in the years to come.

Our biggest update to date features a suite of new maps to explore, exciting crossover features, and a chance to show that you have what it takes to keep the city moving, whether it’s on the roads or in the underground!

The update coming to Mini Motorways includes:

• Three brand-new maps! Three of Mini Metro’s most popular cities are now available in Mini Motorways, including the winner of our player vote, New York City. Recreate London’s iconic roundabouts or attempt to recreate Mumbai’s famous expressways.
• Train stations! These cities are home to bustling railway networks already, and it’s your job to ensure their trains don’t interrupt your traffic! Train stations are new building types that will require careful planning and attention as you draw your roads around unique existing railroads and keep up with the demands of their passengers.
• Each of these maps also includes all-new challenges, new achievements, and a gorgeous new soundscape from Disasterpeace.
• This update also includes performance improvements.
• One known issue in the Nintendo Switch build where the game will lock up if you unlock a map that is also the current daily or weekly challenge. This issue already has a patch submitted to Nintendo, all you have to do is download the latest version of the game and it will be fixed.

The update coming to Mini Metro includes:

• Three more new maps! We’ve brought three of our most popular cities from Mini Motorways and their gorgeous colour palettes to Mini Metro. Another Shinkansen map is yours to enjoy in Tokyo. Or you can carefully traverse the rivers of Warsaw. If you want more than just rivers, the Portuguese coast is yours to explore in Lisbon, a tricky five-line map.
• An all-new photo mode! Export screenshots of your metro networks with decorative frames to show off your unique cities.
• A much-loved feature from Mini Motorways comes to Mini Metro in the form of a new way to capture GIFs. Export colourful animations of your metro networks at any stage in their growth to share with friends or just for bragging rights.
• Fresh challenges and achievements for each of these maps, plus updated audio from Disasterpeace.
• The iOS version of Mini Metro has a know issue in some languages where the map unlock scores for Warsaw and Tokyo are listed backwards. The correct unlock path is 300 on Warsaw -> 400 on Lisbon -> 500 on Toyko. This issue is already fixed and is under review at Apple now and we apologise for the confusion!

Our biggest update so far features an assortment of things to explore for players old and new. The Miniversary Update will feature three crossover maps coming to each game – that’s right, a total of SIX new maps – one selected by you!

We’ve also got a huge surprise that we’re too excited to keep secret – for the first time ever, trains will be pulling into the three new maps coming to Mini Motorways!
